Episode 1 : Third Next Generation Training Workshop on “Physical Modelling in Geotechnics”
In this podcast we recollect the impressions and diverse perspectives from the attendants to the third Next Generation Training Workshop on “Physical Modelling in Geotechnics”. The event was organised at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute – NGI, in Oslo, Norway between November 30th and December 1st, 2023. The workshop hosted future researchers and engineers from various European countries and with diverse professional and educational backgrounds. The event comprised six sessions with presentations by experienced researchers and professionals from partner institutions. The sessions covered topics from basic concepts relevant to physical modelling in geotechnics to the design and applications of multiscale physical modelling for research on critical infrastructure, climate change, and others.
Episode 2 : From the Next Generation Training Workshop to Engineering Practice
In this podcast, we recollect the impressions and perspectives of the attendees to the first through third Next Generation Training Workshops on Physical Modelling in Geotechnics held in CEDEX Madrid, 2021, ETH Zurich, 2022, and NGI Oslo, 2023. In this episode, we focused on how these events may have influenced their current engineering practice and how physical modelling could be engaged in their future endeavours.
